Pay: From £20.00 per hour (overtime rates available)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm (with occasional weekend and call-out work)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fabricator/Welder to join our team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across site. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely completion of work tasks, aligned with business requirements, client specifications, and project deadlines.
You will be involved in the fabrication and installation of metal components to create structural forms such as frames, pipe supports, pipework, and pressure vessels, working from detailed technical drawings supplied by clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform high-specification welding on sheet metal, tubing, plate, and structural steelwork
• Fabricate and assemble components including frames, pipework, supports, and bespoke metal structures
• Install, maintain, and repair equipment such as pipes, valves, plate, and process systems
• Produce custom welded fabrications (e.g. furniture, seating, balconies, staircases) to precise customer specifications
• Accurately interpret engineering drawings and fabricate components from measurements
• Set up and prepare materials using appropriate tools (e.g. powered saws, angle grinders)
• Align, position, and secure components using measuring instruments such as calipers and rulers
• Select and operate the correct welding equipment and techniques based on project requirements
• Ensure all completed work meets high presentation and quality standards
Health, Safety & Compliance
• Strictly adhere to all site rules, company standards, and health & safety regulations
• Fully understand and comply with hot work control procedures
• Maintain proper use and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Always work in a safe, professional, and responsible manner
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in fabrication and welding across multiple processes, including:
• TIG
• MIG
• MMA
Strong working knowledge of:
• Flame cutting
• Plasma cutting
• Grinding and polishing techniques
• Experience working with Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel (Pipe & Plate)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
