Crynodeb
To use substantial experience and expertise to improve and protect the health of the population of Leicester through coordination, support, leadership and development of specific health protection programmes of work including: Providing decisive and effective leadership to teams in line with the councils Vision & Values and Leadership Qualities that enables them to do their best work resulting in high levels of people and organisational performance. Preventing, investigating and controlling communicable diseases in a range of different settings that include education and early years settings, care homes and other public environments. Increasing the technical capability and capacity of the Council with regards to health protection through training and staff development. Developing and implementing the LLR TB strategy and other local plans, strategies, and best practice standards as required. Supporting/developing work programmes and managing staff to increase the local uptake of national screening and immunisation programmes. Identifying and addressing gaps in current health protection functions. Providing detailed advice and guidance on a range of health protection areas to internal and external stakeholders, and timely and comprehensive health protection updates to council members, senior staff, committees and Boards. Representing the Council at meetings, committees, through consultation activities, and customer/client management, providing updates and information on all health protection related functions. Leading negotiations and steering desired outcomes via the agreement of priorities and working arrangements with partner organisations, agencies, and external bodies. Undertaking work associated with new initiatives, changing governing requirements, and service development projects.
