The Role The successful candidate will provide consultant-level care in general ophthalmology alongside specialist oculo-plastic services. The post includes outpatient clinics, procedural work appropriate to experience, and participation in the 1:9 on-call rota. Main Duties Deliver high-quality consultant-led care in general ophthalmology Provide assessment and management of oculo-plastic conditions, including eyelid, lacrimal, and peri-orbital disease Undertake oculo-plastic procedures in line with skills and service requirements Participate in outpatient clinics and theatre/procedure sessions Contribute to the 1:9 ophthalmology on-call rota Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development Support teaching and supervision of trainees and other staff, as appropriate The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
