A Vacancy at North London NHS Foundation Trust.
The North London NHS Foundation Trust seeks to appoint an enthusiastic full-time consultant psychiatrist to Enfield CYPMH Generic and Neurodevelopmental service, consisting of a well-functioning and collaborative multidisciplinary team. The post is available as the previous consultant has moved onto a different role within the CYPMH division in the trust.
The post holder will be required to provide clinical and professional leadership and to take part in related management activities. As a senior clinician, the post holder will have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of clinical pathways and priorities.
General Expectations of a Consultant Psychiatrist employed with North London NHS Foundation Trust include
• To work within the MDT promoting respect for all professional groups and focusing upon coherent and integrated teamwork.
• To be Section 12(2) approved and have approved clinician status and participate in the Trust-wide Section 12 daytime rota.
• To provide second opinions for consultant colleagues if requested.
• To keep up with administration and note-keeping on the electronic patient record system in a timely manner, including letters to GPs, Dialog+ and risk assessments.
• To assist with Serious Incident investigations and complaints if requested.
• To keep up to date with mandatory training.
• To attend and participate in Consultants' and Management meetings to keep informed of service issues and developments.
• Other management/clinical supporting activity (to be negotiated as required by the Trust.)

Clinical Care
• To assess and manage children presenting with mental health difficulties/ neurodevelopmental disorders.
• To take Consultant responsibility in treatment and devising care plans and managing complex drug regimens.
• To prioritise cases requiring urgent psychiatric in-put.
• To work collaboratively with clinical colleagues.
• To be available to clinicians within CYPMHS to discuss the management of cases.
• To be available for consultation to partners in Education, Social care and Paediatrics.
• To be involved with the transition of cases to Adult Services.
• To offer expert advice on risk assessment and management.
• To work collaboratively with other services within CYPMHS, NLFT, and professionals within the Voluntary Sector.
• To attend Child In Need meetings, Team Around the Family meetings and Child Protection Conferences as necessary.
• To provide Responsible Clinician and Section 12(2) responsibilities under the Mental Health Act (1983) to CYPMHS patients where necessary or appropriate.
• To liaise with General Practitioners regarding patients under the care of CAMHS in Enfield.
• To participate in the CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist daytime rota when needed.
• To participate in a wider Trust borough out of hours on-call rota covering all sites
