Procurement Officer Location: LiverpoolHybrid workingFull-time, fixed-term contract for 6 months to cover maternity leaveSalary: £39,355 - £46,049We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our award-winning Finance team, supporting our IT department with all things procurement. This pivotal role will lead complex tendering exercises, manage supplier relationships, and develop category strategies that deliver best value across our diverse global supply chain. You will ensure compliance with UK procurement legislation, embed sustainability, and support colleagues across the organisation to deliver efficient, cost-effective procurement solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategic procurement initiatives, including complex tendering exercises and category strategies, to deliver value for money and mitigate risks.Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring high-quality delivery, compliance, and performance against KPIs and SLAs.Develop and implement sustainable, responsible, and inclusive procurement practices across LSTM’s global supply chain.Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff and suppliers to promote compliance and improve procurement skills.Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including consortia and HE sector networks, to share best practice and maximise procurement opportunities.If you have experience in strategic procurement and contract management, and strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, this role could be perfect for you. You should also have a track record of managing supplier relationships to deliver value for money, experience with tendering and sourcing options, the ability to advise and support staff and suppliers, and a commitment to sustainable and responsible procurement.
