Overview
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Administrator to support the daily operations of a busy transport/logistics department. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience within transport or logistics is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the transport team and transport manager
- Schedule and coordinate driver routes, deliveries, and collections
- Process delivery notes, manifests, and transport paperwork
- Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle usage, and compliance documentation
- Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries
- Book deliveries and collections with customers and suppliers
- Update systems with transport data, job status updates, and delivery information
- Monitor inboxes and respond to queries in a timely manner
- Ensure vehicle documentation, MOTs, and servicing schedules are up to date
- Assist with reporting and general office administration duties
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous administration experience (transport/logistics admin desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills-both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively
- Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
- Problem-solving attitude with the ability to prioritise workload
- Team player with a positive and professional approach
Desirable
- Experience working in a transport or logistics environment
- Knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g., driver hours, tachographs)
- Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS)
