An exciting opportunity is available for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive, independent practice in Cambridgeshire. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking clinical freedom, exposure to a wide range of cases, and an excellent work-life balance within a well-equipped and supportive environment.
About the Practice
Established in 2018, this RCVS-approved veterinary practice has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised care. The practice offers primary care, advanced diagnostics, and 24-hour emergency services, with a commitment to keeping most cases in-house to support clinical development and continuity of care.
The team includes orthopaedic and ophthalmology certificate holders, providing an excellent opportunity to work up complex cases to a high clinical standard.
The practice is also actively involved in the local community, supporting charities and recently becoming a sponsor for a local football team.

This modern practice is continually investing in new technology and is well-equipped with:
New digital X-ray and ultrasound equipment
Full in-house IDEXX laboratory
Endoscopy
Multiparameter monitoring
Fully equipped operating theatre
Vista iQ lump scanner (non-invasive, cost-effective diagnostics for clients)
The practice is committed to ongoing investment in advanced veterinary equipment and technology.
Additionally, a fully equipped veterinary ambulance supports home visits and patient transport between the branch in March and the main site in Chatteris.
The Role
Flexible full-time or part-time position (4 or 5 days per week)
Standard shifts: 8:30am – 6:30pm
Flexible working patterns available (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
Optional Saturday rota (9:00am – 2:30pm) – can be as frequent or infrequent as preferred
Out-of-hours (OOH) work is completely optional
Opportunity to develop and pursue clinical interests, including advanced case work
Work within a collaborative and experienced veterinary team
Candidate Requirements
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon (or eligible)
Ideally 1+ year of small animal experience (flexible for the right candidate)
Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Passion for delivering high standards of patient and client care
Keen to engage in continuous professional development (CPD)
