Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant for a rewarding 1:1 contract in New Malden. This role involves working closely with a young boy with high-level special educational needs, providing the consistent emotional and physical support required to access his learning safely.

This position is ideal for a practitioner who remains calm under pressure and is confident in managing physical outbursts and challenging behaviours with empathy and resilience.

Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception-aged pupil with complex needs.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies to de-escalate physical behaviours.
- Assist the class teacher in adapting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to suit the pupil's specific requirements.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and parents.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where the pupil feels supported and understood.

Essential Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience supporting primary-aged children with challenging behaviour.
- Confidence and resilience in managing physical behaviours and high-level needs.
- Ideally, experience supporting a variety of SEN, such as ASD or SEMH.
- A patient, nurturing, and firm-but-fair approach to 1:1 support.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
