Crynodeb
We seek to appoint a professional, caring and reliable Minibus Driver to join our existing successful team from March2026
or as soon as possible.
Hours available are Monday to Friday 06:30 to 08:30 and 16:00 to 18:00 (term time only). The school’s regular minibus service transports pupils to and
from school from 6.30-8.30am, and then 4.00-5.30pm or 4.30-6.00pm (variable subject to after school activities), Monday-Friday, term time only. Additional minibus journeys are made regularly each week to external venues for sporting activities,
lessons and other trips, and the timings of these are varied. There may be occasional weekend hours.
We welcome applications from candidates who are available for limited hours or more varied. Please indicate your availability
in your application letter. Experience of being a school minibus driver, whilst desirable, is not essential as training will be
provided.

Key Duties
The person employed will be responsible to the Premises Manager for the professional execution of their duties. These may
include:
• To work as part of a team to safely transport children attending the school at the start and end of the school day, on
designated routes in Cardiff and the surrounding areas, and/or to and from designated venues, as required.
• To comply with the terms of the School Vehicle Policy (below), which sets out each driver’s obligations in relation to
driving, vehicle care and accidents.
• To be responsible for recording the names of pupils using the service and provide the register to the Bursary office daily.
• To be responsible for the health and safety, comfort and welfare of pupils and staff whilst being transported in the
vehicle.
• To demonstrate a high level of attention and care towards the children, and managing behaviour according to the
school’s behaviour policy.
• To co-operate and work effectively with colleagues and to give/share advice to ensure good practice.
• To liaise with parents when required and to refer any concerns or difficulties to the Premises Manager, Bursar or Head
of Section.
• To refuel the vehicle as required (paid for by the school).

• Have a full disclosure DBS check, and support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding students.

• Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and positive, courteous relations
with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Be self-reflective and committed to your own continued professional development, participating in training and keeping
up to date with current procedures and practices.
• Engage actively in the appraisal process.
• Contribute to and support the wider life of the School, eg. attending school open days where appropriate (incl one
Saturday in early October) and attending other functions and events.
• Undertake such other reasonable duties related to the job purpose as required from time to time.

• Experienced driver with a full driving licence, with at least category D1 (entitlement to drive minibuses).
• A PSV or advanced driving qualification would be an advantage, but not essential.
• Skilled individual with a warm and welcoming approach, able to represent the school professionally.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Be able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and be committed to a good team ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to relate to pupils of all ages.
• Diplomatic and trustworthy.
• Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
• A clear understanding of, and sympathy with, the Christian faith.
• A sense of humour and perspective.
