As a health care assistant you play a vital role in delivering high standards of care to our patients on Aspull. you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all patients are cared for and treated with dignity and respect. Your duties will be varied, and include, assisting patient with personal hygiene, assisting patients during meal times, talking and listening to patients and working in partnership with patients, carers and the wider team. Duties of a Healthcare Support WorkerWe know that no two days are the same and its hard to fit everything on one page, however, the following are an example of the duties our Healthcare Support Workers do every day in their roles:1. Assist patients with the provision of washing, dressing, personal care, beverages and/or meals.2. Assist qualified nursing and medical staff where requested.3. Communicate with all members of the team to maintain a good service provision.4. Ensure that all patients are able to meet their hygiene needs, providing a level of assistance appropriate to the individual.5. Prepare and support the patient appropriately during any activity that is to be undertaken.6. Alert the registered nurse where you notice any changes in the patients health and well-being or any possible risks.7. Ensure effective use of material resources/supplies within the ward/unit in consultation with senior staff.8. Assist with the general cleaning and re-stocking of resources where appropriate as well as cleaning and preparing patients beds.9. Contribute to own personal development and take an active part in learning opportunities.
