We are seeking a highly skilled Food Account Manager to lead the delivery of food service operations across government buildings, including staff restaurants, retail food outlets, café bars and other catering environments.
This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong operational and financial background, capable of driving standards, managing multi-site teams and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Job Description
We are looking for a professional who can balance strategic direction with day-to-day operational oversight, ensuring resilience, compliance and continual improvement across all catering services.
As this position works within government environments, the successful applicant will be required to hold (or be eligible to obtain) SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, allocate and monitor the work of self and team to ensure targets are met and quality standards are exceeded across all contracts.
Manage the operational and financial performance of contracts within remit, ensuring strong P&L control and driving profitability.
Work closely with Key Account Managers, the Key Account Director and cross-functional departments to deliver successful food service operations.
Lead, motivate and support teams to carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively across multiple sites.
Ensure full compliance with policies and procedures related to recruitment, absence management and disciplinary processes.
Oversee the ongoing development of supervisors, operatives and wider teams, establishing succession plans for key roles.
Build, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with clients at all appropriate levels.
Provide strategic leadership across dual-function services, ensuring operational integration and resilience planning.
Develop and oversee safe systems of work, ensuring full compliance with all health & safety legislation.
Manage and matrix-lead teams, providing mentorship, performance oversight and professional development.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong food background, ideally within retail catering, staff restaurants, café bars or similar environments.
Experience working within government buildings, with existing SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage food cost, P&L and drive profit.
Excellent leadership and people-management skills with experience leading multi-site teams.
