Contract Type: Full-time (5 days per week), fixed-term until the end of the academic year. Potential to be extended if successful.
We are currently recruiting for a committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Northolt. This is a great opportunity for a passionate educator, especially with a strength in Physics, to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, forward-thinking school environment.
About the School:
This is a mixed secondary school with a strong focus on academic progress, student wellbeing, and inclusive education. The Science department is well-resourced and collaborative, with a shared commitment to delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for learning.
The Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular emphasis on Physics. You will join an established department and be expected to contribute to both curriculum delivery and the wider school community.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated Science lessons
Teaching Physics confidently up to GCSE level (A-Level experience is advantageous but not essential)
Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress in line with school policies
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school expectations
Contributing to departmental planning, meetings, and enrichment activities where appropriate
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable, but strong unqualified teachers or instructors with relevant experience will also be considered
Proven experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge, particularly in Physics
Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds
A proactive, flexible, and professional approach to teaching
Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or be willing to obtain one prior to starting
Full availability Monday to Friday is essential
What the School Offers:
A supportive and welcoming leadership team
A collaborative and experienced Science department
Well-equipped laboratories and teaching resources
Opportunities to gain valuable experience in a dynamic school setting
Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience and qualifications
This position is ideal for a teacher who is available immediately and looking for a rewarding role through to the end of the academic year, with the opportunity to positively influence students’ academic journeys—particularly in Physics.
How to Apply:
If you are an enthusiastic Science Teacher ready to take on a new challenge and start immediately, please submit your CV along with a brief cover statement outlining your suitability for the role.
We look forward to hearing from you.
