Description
General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Technical Bulletin & UFR Co-Ordinator to join our Engineering Team, based in Merthyr Tydfil. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £45,600 to £57,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team, the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in the LSA disciplines of Logistic Data Management and Logistic Support Analysis. The role involves analysing and resolving issues to achieve challenging deadlines, within a continuous improvement discipline to improve the ability to deliver under pressure. The candidate will be required to work across geographical and cultural divides to draw together a comprehensive support solution for the vehicle programme.If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:- Application specialist for the EAGLE Suite of applications
- Provide a qualitative service to Support Engineering to ensure that LSAR/CSBD/IETP deliveries are met in support of GDLS-UK SV Program requirements
- Producing ILS and Supportability documentation in line with the contractual requirements of the programme
- Support technical publications discipline to produce IETPs in line with project demands and deadlines
- Manipulation of data to produce various reports and managerial aids.
- Creation, Integration & Closure of Technical Bulletins (TBs) and Unsatisfactory Feature Reports (UFRs) Creation, Integration & Closure of Unsatisfactory Feature Reports
- Unsatisfactory Feature Reports (UFR) are used to capture Technical Information (TI) amendment requests throughout the defence environment. Similar to TBs, these are required to be integrated into the various support products to ensure the UFR can be closed.
- Maintain the integration of TBs or UFRs from an ILS perspective. This will need to be created in conjunction with Engineering and the ILS team to ensure In-service feedback via TBs and UFRs can be seamlessly incorporated into the support products.
- Support the delivery of changes through TBs and UFRs for all AJAX variants to ensure all support products (LSAR and IETP) reflect those changes. A summary of the process is set out below:
- Conduct an impact assessment of TBs and UFRs relating to all variants of AJAX vehicles, understanding which are affected and what support data requires modification.
- Effect the required change to the identified tables (Predominantly X, H and C tables).
- Implement applicability of parts and LCNs
- Mark up a Portable Document File (PDF) of any impacted DM and attach the PDF to EAGLE Publishing Suite (EPS)
- Update the tracking information – Tech Bulletin Log, UFR register & DRACAS
- As part of the ongoing process the successful applicant will:
- Offer suggestions on more efficient ways of working to increase the rate at which the outstanding work can be completed. This can be via automation or new processes.
- Offer suggestions for maintaining configuration control, of the LSAR, in the increased complexity environment.
- Deliver progress tracking and reporting.
- Track progress, and report on at least weekly basis and provide trend analysis on a quarterly basis.
To apply for this role, you will require the following:
- A thorough working knowledge of the EAGLE LSAR Database.
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of DEF STAN 00-600, S1000D, S2000M and SGML creation and management.
- A good understanding of current MoD (Tri-Service) maintenance strategies.
- Ability to work independently on own initiative as well as within the team environment.
- Thorough working knowledge of modern IT working practices.
- Excellent communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of tailoring working practices / processes to satisfy contractual requirements.
- Prepare written technical reports.
- Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles.
- Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, JSP886, Military Standards and EC Directives.
- Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
