Are you a qualified advanced clinical practitioner passionate about HIV?

We are seeking a motivated band 8a advanced clinical practitioner in HIV to join our forward-thinking HIV team.

We welcome applicants from nursing, midwifery or allied health professions who are qualified advanced clinical practitioners with extensive HIV experience who are keen to work in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

As an ACP, you will lead an Multidisciplinary Team approach to patient engagement, with the aim of supporting individuals into and retaining within care, thus reducing the short- and long-term negative impact on their health and well-being and wider public health.

As a senior and experienced clinician, you will lead on and facilitate the provision of high quality, specialist clinical care to HIV patients across the service, with a specific focus on those who are lost to follow up.
• The Lead Nurse/ACP HIV has a clear management and leadership role over the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Day Ward Teams.
• The role involves a strong clinical component, with the post holder undertaking at least 50% clinical session within HIV at an advanced practice level.
• The post - holder is expected to deliver high quality training, education and clinical assessments, providing a highly visible and authoritative presence, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality care.
• The post holder will be a professional role model, who will manage the Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
• In conjunction with the Consultant Nurses the post holder will co-ordinate and be operationally responsible for clinical training and assessment of the department’s nursing team utilising the experience and skills of the specialist nurses.
• Provide specialist nursing advice as a clinical expert to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients / clients and relatives / carers in collaboration with the multi-professional team, in line with local and national targets. They will ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery, particularly vulnerable service users.
• To advise, manage and support patients with complex HIV needs with the support of the multi-disciplinary team where necessary.
