Are you an experienced signalling professional ready to step into a leadership role where your impact is visible every day?
As a Team Leader within Signals & Telecoms, you'll take charge of a skilled team responsible for keeping the railway safe, reliable, and performing at its best. This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same-offering both challenge and reward in equal measure.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing team delivering essential signalling work across inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading from the front - directing and organising team activities to ensure safe, efficient delivery
Championing safety - establishing and maintaining robust safe systems of work
Driving quality and compliance - ensuring all work meets required standards and your team remains fully competent
Managing resources - ensuring vehicles, tools, and equipment are safe and fit for purpose
Reporting with purpose - producing key operational reports that keep everything running smoothly
Setting the standard - working hands-on and role modelling excellence across your team

Please note:
The role includes shift work (days/nights/weekends)
On-call duties are required
Subject to medical, drug, and alcohol testing
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience organising and delivering work safely and efficiently
Strong communication skills-confident both in person and in writing
In-depth knowledge of signalling maintenance, faulting, inspection, and renewal techniques
Familiarity with standards such as NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231
A confident, inspiring leader with a clear sense of direction
Valid IRSE Combined Signalling Maintainer & Fault Finder Licence (1.4.230)
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or comparable experience
Experience within railway signalling, ideally in a team leadership role
Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive as required
