Crynodeb
Lead shifts at registrar level in PED, contributing to providing 12 hour / day middle grade cover. There will be no night shift commitment in this post. Assess and manage your own patients. Assist and supervise the junior doctors. Help manage patient flow, with particular focus on achieving the 4-hour target. Gain excellent experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, and in education, management, and quality improvement. There is shop-floor consultant cover seven days a week from 0800-2230. There is a consultant dedicated to supervising the PED during weekdays until 1700. The ED Consultants are committed to the supervision and development of these posts. You will be allocated a PEM consultant as your Educational Supervisor, helping you gain the development and competencies you seek and to support you with PEM or GRID subspeciality applications if required.
