You will work as part of the KPSS team to support individuals within the community. You will support people to live independently within their own homes, promoting choice, dignity, and wellbeing.
About the Role
You will work within KPSS supporting individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and complex health conditions. This may include supporting with daily routines, personal care, communication, medication, and community activities.
As part of this role, your primary assignment will be supporting an individual currently living in their own home.
A message from Taylor My name is Taylor and I have nonverbal autism and epilepsy. I Live in in my own home and I am looking to build a team to support me on this chapter of my life.
I am looking for a team who are flexible, motivated, good communicators and can support me with a good routine. I enjoy activities such as walking, swimming and gym, cinema and socialising with my friends.
The Support:-
We are looking to support Taylor both during day shift, evenings with occasional overnight (sleep overs) and staff should be available every second weekend, your Shift pattern will reflect this. Due to this requirement, we need a team in place that can be flexible. You will predominantly be based within my home in the evening time but on the odd occasion there will a requirement to take me to a club on a Friday night so having a full UK driving licence is essential.
We would love to hear from anyone who has good values, flexibility when it comes to working hours and believes they have the right skills to support Taylor.
Please note: While this will be your main placement, you may also be required to support other individuals and services across KPSS in line with service needs.
Hours of Work
Working hours will be agreed in line with service requirements and may include:
- Evenings (typically between 5pm – 10pm)
- Sleepover shifts
- Weekend working (including every second weekend)
Flexibility is essential as shift patterns may vary.

Main responsibilities:
- Support service users in all aspects of personal care.
- Support service users with medication where required.
- Assist service users to meet their nutritional needs.
- Carry out light household duties.
- Assist service users with finances as per company policy.
- Ensure service users have access to healthcare, if required.
- Utilise all communication methods to listen and talk to service users to promote their wellbeing.
- Encourage the relationships service users have with family, friends, and wider community.
- At all times, be mindful of equality and diversity, and behave in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Be aware of adult protection issues and report accordingly.
- Report a service users progress on the correct platforms.
- Guaranteed hours are not attached to a single service user and may be fulfilled across multiple services.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK Driving License
- Due to the needs of the individual supported, there is a genuine occupational requirement for female staff in line with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
You do not need to have any experience; although experience within the care sector is an advantage, we are looking for individuals who have a real passion for enhancing the experiences of our service users, helping them to live an independent life.
