We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join the team at our busy Maidstone branch. This is a hands-on role in a
fast-paced yard where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly — from picking and loading to supporting
customers and maintaining a safe, organised environment.
The Role
As a Forklift Truck Driver, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day movement of stock and supporting the wider yard operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Safely operating a counterbalance forklift
• Picking loads and preparing orders for dispatch
• Loading and unloading company, customer, and supplier vehicles
• Assisting customers and drivers in the yard
• Keeping the yard clean, organised, and well presented
• Managing stock rotation and highlighting any issues
• Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery, reporting defects and safety concerns
About You
You’ll be reliable, safety-conscious, and take pride in doing a job well. You’ll also enjoy working as part of a team and
delivering great service to customers:
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence with at least 2 years’ experience
• Experience in a builders merchant, ideally within civils/groundworks
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A proactive, team-focused approach
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• Eligible to work in the UK
