About us

Clermiston After School Club is a warm, friendly not-for-profit childcare service based within Clermiston Primary School. We provide a safe, fun and welcoming space for up to 30 children each day, where they can relax, play and socialise after school.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated After School Club Manager to lead our club and help shape its future. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about childcare and enjoys creating a positive environment where children and staff can thrive.
Working closely with our voluntary management committee, you will play a key role in ensuring the club runs smoothly while continuing to develop and improve the service we provide to families in our community.

About the Role

As Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the club, supporting staff and creating a fun, safe and engaging environment for the children in our care.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the After School Club and supporting its ongoing development
• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging environment for children
• Managing day-to-day communications with parents and carers
• Responding to enquiries and handling any concerns or complaints professionally
• Preparing and organising snacks for the children
• Managing enrolments, registration updates and club administration
• Supporting, supervising and developing staff
• Working with the committee on improvement and development planning for the club
• Leasing with the regulatory bodies

Hours and Salary

This is a permanent part-time role, working 22 hours per week during term time (37 weeks per year). With a starting pro rata salary of £15,759.20 to be agreed depending on experience and qualifications. Extra hours may be required on an ad hoc basis.

Core Working Hours: (Term-time hours)

Monday to Thursday 2:30pm to 5:30pm and Friday 11:30am to 5:00pm Additional hours can be worked flexibly to complete administrative duties.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:
• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with children, families and staff
• Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a small team and busy club environment
• Passionate about childcare and creating a fun and safe environment for children
• Proficient in using Microsoft 365

Qualifications

This individual should hold SCQF Level 9 or equivalent as relevant to the qualification requirements outlined by the SSSC.

Experience

Management/Supervisory or experience within a lead role of at least 1 year is mandatory, and childcare experience of at least 3 years with school aged children is preferred. Two references and a PVG are subject to this position being offered.
