Crynodeb
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Development Project Manager to lead the delivery of our new multi‑million‑pound Pride in Place programme in the Park Wood and Senacre communities. This ambitious 10‑year programme will improve outcomes, strengthen cohesion, and enhance the local environment through a portfolio of capital and community‑led projects.
About the role
You will be the driving force behind the programme planning, coordinating and supporting the neighbourhood board to deliver a diverse range of regeneration, engagement and community capacity‑building activity. You’ll work closely with the board, residents, community leaders, local organisations and partners to ensure that projects are co‑designed, inclusive, and rooted in local priorities.
You will:
• Lead end‑to‑end programme and project management, ensuring delivery on time and within scope.
• Manage capital improvements, environmental programmes, community infrastructure projects and revenue‑funded initiatives.
• Commission and oversee high‑quality community engagement, insight gathering and co‑design processes.
• Support and coordinate the Community Board, including agendas, reporting and action tracking.
• Manage budgets, prepare performance and financial reports, and ensure robust risk management.
• Build strong relationships with residents and partners, acting as the Council’s primary point of contact.
• Champion the values of inclusion, resilience, and community pride throughout delivery.
This role is offered on a permanent contract, working full time, 37 hours per week
on a hybrid basis. There will also be the need to attend some out of hours and off-site meetings/events, as required.
About You
You will bring strong project management experience (ideally with MSP/PRINCE2 or equivalent practical expertise), excellent communication and partnership‑working skills, and a deep understanding of community development principles. You’ll be confident leading complex, multi‑agency work and committed to improving outcomes for communities facing multiple challenges.
Experience of delivering capital and revenue‑funded community projects, commissioning engagement, and working in public sector or place‑based settings is highly desirable.
As you will be required to attend meetings/events in the Parkwood and Senacre areas, having a full valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle would be an advantage.
Why join us?
This is a rare opportunity to shape a major long‑term investment in one of Maidstone’s most vibrant communities. If you are motivated by impact, collaboration and community‑driven change, we would love to hear from you.
Apply now and be part of something genuinely transformative.
