What the role involves
• Visiting pre selected households chosen through a statistical sample (not volunteers).
• Conducting structured interviews and collecting accurate data using digital tools.
• Explaining the purpose of the study clearly and building rapport quickly.
• Managing your own schedule, travel, and admin tasks.
• Representing the ONS professionally in the community.

Essential requirements
• Access to a car and a full UK driving licence for travel between sampled addresses.
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with a wide range of people.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to work across varied hours, including evenings and Saturdays.

• Shifts may fall across: 09:00–12:00, 12:00–18:00, 18:00–20:00, and Saturdays 09:00–20:00
• Some admin and travel may occur outside these times.

Pay and contract

• Holiday pay: £1.99 per hour
• Total hourly rate: £15.24
• Start date: Once pre employment checks are completed
• Contract: 12 months, with potential to extend

Why this work matters
Your interviews help produce accurate national statistics that inform decisions on public services, economic planning, and social policy across the UK.

If you want this to read more like a job board advert or a shorter punchier version for social media, I can shape it accordingly.
