Energy Metering Customer Advisor

About the Role of Energy Metering Customer Advisor:

This role plays a key part in managing the organisation's metering portfolio and supporting relationships with Meter Asset Managers (MAMs), customers, suppliers, and internal teams. You will be responsible for ensuring metering data is accurate, industry processes are followed, and queries are resolved efficiently. Your work will directly contribute to delivering a high‑quality service and maintaining strong operational performance.

The position also involves contacting customers or third parties to obtain meter readings and ensuring all relevant data is processed within required timeframes. Strong communication, organisation, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all meter and AMR (Automatic Meter Reader) installations, exchanges, removals, and asset updates, ensuring all data sources remain accurate and aligned
• Source and update MAM details, ensuring all appointments and de‑appointments are correct
• Resolve issues arising from incorrect meter or AMR data
• Manage and resolve industry meter reading rejections
• Liaise with customers, metering partners, reading agencies, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve metering and data queries
• Support the rollout of AMR and Smart metering projects
• Request, remove, or re‑synchronise AMR devices within agreed SLAs
• Ensure meter readings are obtained and submitted within industry deadlines
• Process industry data flows to maintain accurate supply point information for billing
• Provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting to support operational and sales teams

Desirable Skills

• Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Experience within an energy supplier's operations function
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with third-party agents such as MAMs or MOPs
