Maintenance Operative / Handyperson
Location: Nashley House BS23 or Gorselands BS21, with occasional travel to Berkshire services (SL6 and RG7)
Salary: £28,080 to £30,992 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Home Manager and Directors
We are seeking a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to support our residential dementia care homes. The role focuses on maintaining safe, compliant and well presented premises in line with CQC Regulation 15.
You will carry out day to day repairs, planned maintenance and compliance checks including fire safety, water safety and basic electrical systems. The role also involves monitoring the building and grounds, identifying risks, managing minor works and supporting contractors on site.
You will work closely with the Home Manager to prioritise tasks, maintain records and ensure the environment remains safe and suitable for residents, staff and visitors.
Applicants should have general maintenance experience across building works, be able to work independently and have a good understanding of health and safety. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. Experience in a care setting and relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
This is a hands on role requiring a proactive approach, good organisation and a strong focus on safety and standards.
