We are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer - Mechanical to support ISS’s ambition to become the world’s greatest service organisation.
This role plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional mechanical and building services maintenance, enabling clients to operate efficiently and achieve their business objectives.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced engineer who can provide reliable mechanical, electrical, and building services support.
Through high-quality maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations, the Multiskilled Engineer will contribute to operational continuity, client satisfaction, and ISS’s reputation as a trusted facilities management partner.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
Deliver additional building services maintenance, including minor fabric and electrical tasks.
Monitor mechanical systems, identify faults, replace defective parts, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Test and calibrate systems using precision instruments to maintain correct operation.
Plan and prioritise work effectively, selecting appropriate methods, materials, and techniques.
Comply with all building operations, safety regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records for maintenance, repairs, work orders, and material estimates.
Coordinate with clients, managers, and contractors to meet service standards, including issuing permits and overseeing contractor work.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Minimum Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
City & Guilds 1788 in Mechanical Engineering (previous editions considered).
Mechanical to Electrical Conversion (MEC) qualification desirable.
Proven ability to apply technical knowledge to maintain reliable mechanical systems.
Demonstrable experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical building services.
Experience delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance, improving building efficiency and reducing downtime.
Previous experience within FM or building services in commercial environments.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including applying risk assessments and method statements.
