SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting ASAP

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide full-time SEMH support for pupils across the school
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who present emotional and behavioural challenges
- Use de-escalation and regulation strategies to promote engagement
- Assist with learning tasks, modelling and reinforcing key skills
- Implement personalised behaviour and learning plans
- Support pupils during transitions, routines and unstructured times
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and SEND staff
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- SEMH/EBD experience is essential
- Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- Calm, patient, resilient and able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Skilled in behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to follow guidance while using initiative when appropriate
- Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupil development
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
