Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Porter to join our team in Stirling, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our kitchen operations. Working collaboratively with our chefs and kitchen staff, you will ensure that our kitchen remains a hygienic, well-organised, and productive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, resilient, and committed to supporting our culinary team.

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers, ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards • Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, food preparation areas, and equipment regularly, maintaining a hygienic working environment at all times
  • Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients • Receive, store, and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently, maintaining accurate inventory records and alerting management to stock levels • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting any faults promptly
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work under pressure • Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and contributing ideas to enhance kitchen operations and efficiency


Qualifications

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods throughout your shift • Capability to lift and carry heavy objects safely and correctly • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation • Strong ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team • Good people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices, or willingness to learn
  • Understanding of food hygiene principles and health and safety compliance requirements • Reliability and punctuality, with a professional approach to your role • Resilience and a positive attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure • Catering or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome applications from those new to the role who demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment • Willingness to undertake induction training and develop your skill base within the hospitality sector
