A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Tameside is seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who require additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding full-time role where you will have a direct impact on helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
In this role, you will:
• Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
• Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Help students stay focused and engaged with lessons and school routines
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support plans
• Build strong, consistent relationships that encourage trust and confidence
• Contribute to a structured, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
You will play a key role in supporting students to re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
We're looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils (11-16)
• Has supported students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• Demonstrates a calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Builds positive relationships quickly and effectively
• Communicates clearly and works well within a team
• Is adaptable across a range of subjects and classroom settings
• A dedicated consultant who understands your experience and goals
