Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Administrator, you will support the SRF through a wide range of administrative and organisational tasks, including:
- Taking accurate minutes and notes at meetings.
- Coordinating room bookings, arranging travel, and managing diaries.
- Working closely with the SRF team and attending multi-agency meetings.
- Supporting major incident responses within strategic or tactical coordination centres in Suffolk.
- Receiving full training on Suffolk’s response functions.
- Maintaining accurate financial administration processes and records.
- Assisting with administrative audits.
- Using the procurement system to support the SRF delivery plan.
- Overseeing day-to-day administrative, financial, and IT processes within your area of work.
- Managing activities within your specialism, including research, investigating issues, and preparing presentations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, service levels, and performance.

You will need
You’ll bring strong people skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively. We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience carrying out specialist administrative and financial procedures.
- Previous experience managing budgets and/or working with financial information.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Accurate note‑taking or minute‑taking skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- An understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Research and problem‑solving skills to handle queries effectively.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information.

The team
The Suffolk Resilience Forum (SRF) secretariat team supports partner agencies under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. We provide the structure and coordination needed for multi-agency planning and response to major incidents.
The team includes a Chief Resilience Officer; Partnership Manager and Deputy Partnership Manager; three Risk and Resilience Officers; a Communities Coordinator; a Data Analyst; and a Climate Adaptation Officer.
We work flexibly, combining working from home with office days at Endeavour House, Police HQ Martlesham Heath, and other locations across the county. Communication, collaboration, and partnership working are at the heart of what we do.
