What skills and experience we're looking for

Outstanding Learning Mentor required to work within our new internal nurture provision from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Learning Mentor to work within our new nurture provision from September 2026. The Learning Mentor of the Nurture Provision is responsible for ensuring effective provision for the children in their care, with a focus on emotional development and support.

The role will include facilitating ‘family style’ lunch provision for our nurture children and running individual and group activities based on Thrive and other recognised social and emotional interventions. The Learning Mentors will be required to attend weekly staff training sessions and INSET days.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have an understanding of child development and how the learning processes can be affected by other factors.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of agencies that support vulnerable children.
• Ability to motivate pupils by establishing empathetic and supportive working relationships.
• Be a positive role model to children and ‘champion’ inclusive practises.
• Ability to organise and plan independently.
• Be flexible and adaptable to try new approaches with children.
• Be confident is using various forms of ICT and use online platforms to track the progress of children social and emotional development.
• Have or be willing to undertake full Thrive training, level 3 Child Protection training and other related training.
• Liaise confidently and professionally with parents and staff.
