What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated part time Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our team working 25.5 hours per week. Our Little Thinkers Nursery at Kings Ash Academy was created in November of last year and is growing in reputation and in capacity.We provide care and early education for children aged 0–2 years, with most of our children transitioning to the school nursery as they grow.

As a Nursery Practitioner you will be joining a caring team, who thrive on teamwork and a challenge. We are looking for someone who is passionate about transforming the lives of our children to join with us and support in the childcare at our exciting new provision.

This position offers the opportunity to work across our vibrant settings ofLittle Thinkers Torbay. We are looking for a flexible and dedicated individual who will be based at Kings Ash Academy, but is happy to work across our settings, depending on the needs of the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development.
• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, mealtime, and rest periods.
• Observe and assess children's progress, identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure the well-being and development of each child.
• Maintain accurate records of each child's daily activities and progress.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of children at all times.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized nursery environment.

Experience:

• Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Relevant qualification in childcare or early childhood education (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
