We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people during practical food lessons. You will have a passion for preparing and cooking food and enjoy sharing this knowledge with others.
Attention to detail, and working to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is vital.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Checking and receiving student ingredients prior to the start of the school day
• Organising students’ dishes and leftover ingredients ready for collection at the end of school day
• Providing support during practical lessons including demonstrating of equipment and techniques
• Clearing and resetting practical rooms
• Stock control and ordering of ingredients and equipment
• Accurate weighing and measuring of ingredients
• Routine safety checks, safe storage, and maintenance of equipment
• Safety, hygiene and food allergen control, including laundering of washable items
• Following risk assessments and safety systems, including COSHH
• Reporting safeguarding and general safety concerns in a timely manner
• Administration
• Experience of first aid is desirable, but not essential. Training will be given
The right attitude is more important than qualifications – we will train you if you are willing to learn. If you are interested in finding out more, you are very welcome to come and visit our food rooms and meet the team.
