What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Board are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to work in our busy kitchen, supporting the provision of the catering operation, assisting with cooking, baking, food preparation and hygiene.
Bowlee Park is an OUTSTANDING school with a strong caring ethos, high expectations, hardworking children, supported by a strong team of motivated teaching and support staff.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure, have an extremely flexible approach to work, the ability to communicate at all levels and be able to work as part of a successful catering team.
You will carry out normal kitchen duties as part of a large team with a daily service of approximately 600 covers.
Duties to include:
• Cooking, baking, food preparation and service to a high standard
• Ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards
• Washing up and cleaning to a high standard
• General kitchen and dining room duties
• Undertake moderate lifting duties i.e. food deliveries/dining room furniture
Ideally candidates will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, however training will be provided for the right person.
