Hays are recruiting for a temporary Receptionist, based in Manchester city centre. We are seeking a professional, friendly, and highly organised Corporate Receptionist to provide ad hoc cover within our front-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied schedule and can be available on short notice to cover planned and unplanned absences. As the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and colleagues, you will represent the business with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and sign in visitors, ensuring an excellent first impression.
- Handle incoming calls and emails in a professional and courteous manner
- Manage meeting room bookings and maintain tidy, presentable spaces
- Assist with incoming/outgoing post and courier arrangements
- Maintain reception area standards and uphold security procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team when required
- Respond flexibly to changing schedules and last-minute requests
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a corporate receptionist role
- Confident, polished, and well-presented with a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask, prioritise, and remain calm under pressure
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing business needs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general office systems
