KS1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Handsworth, B20
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.
Long Term Futures are recruiting for a patient, resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant who can provide support in across Key Stage 1 classrooms for a welcoming and caring school based in Handsworth, Birmingham, accessible from Birmingham City Centre.
This position is a long-term role and for the right candidate there is an opportunity to be made permanent. The school is looking for a proactive, accommodating and positive person who is looking to excel and become a crucial part of their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development
- Assist with targeted interventions in Phonics, Maths and Reading
- Provide occasional PPA cover, leading the class in the absence of the teacher
- Reinforce learning across a range of subjects through small group and 1:1 support
- Encouraging focus, confidence and positivity
- Advise and support in creating a calm learning environment
- Reinforcing learning by assisting with a range of subjects
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification, or relevant subject
- Experience working with Key Stage One pupils
- A background supporting students in a classroom or similar setting
- An understanding of how to support students' learning and development
- A co-operative and positive attitude
