YARD FORKLIFT DRIVER / OPERATOR

We are looking for a reliable, experienced Yard Forklift Driver / Operator to join a busy yard and production team. The ideal candidate is confident on a counterbalance truck, able to load and unload lorries quickly and safely, and willing to help with general yard and production tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to move pallets and goods around the yard
  • Fast, accurate loading and unloading of lorries and trailers
  • Build, break down and repair pallets
  • Bagging and packing production items as required
  • Picking porcelain and other fragile orders with care and attention to detail
  • Manual handling of stock-lifting and moving items regularly
  • Perform basic daily checks on equipment and maintain a tidy, safe working area
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks across the yard/warehouse as needed


What we're looking for

  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a yard/warehouse environment
  • Ability to load lorries quickly while maintaining safe working practices
  • Comfortable with physical work and regular lifting
  • Careful, methodical approach when picking fragile items such as porcelain
  • Good teamwork, reliability and a positive attitude
  • Basic numeracy and the ability to follow order paperwork


Details

  • Full-time temporary position; daytime hours with overtime - Overtime paid at time and half over 40 hours
  • Working Hours Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm
