The Mission (will you read on?)
Are you a ‘superhero’ who wants to help children achieve the best possible outcomes they can and empower them to be the heroes of their own story? Can you ensure the home is a place of safety for those who live and work there? Can you lead your team of ‘heroes’ to ensure that the home meets all its Ofsted requirements, whilst protecting and supporting them to develop in their roles? Do you have a passion for helping children live their best lives, and support them to gain the tools to become independent?
If so, this could be the role you were meant for.
Humble Bee Homes are looking for a dedicated and talented registered manager to help create a Sanctum for children with learning difficulties and ASD where they can be supported to be their best selves and receive the personalised, child centred care they deserve. The home will be registered for a maximum of two children, and you will need to ensure you have built a team that could ‘save the day’.
This role would be perfect for:
Someone who is serious about providing high standards of care, but who doesn’t take themselves too seriously; if playing football in the garden is what the kids want, facing your fears on roller coasters or floating in a tube whilst indoor skydiving – who really wants to sit that out?
Someone who believes that each child deserves a champion, regardless of how many times they push the boundaries.
Someone who wants to finish the day thinking ‘what have I done today?’ – I helped a young person feel safe and heard, I helped a member of my team who was having a bad day, I didn’t laugh when a young person tried to convince me that they didn’t eat a family bag of crisps but ‘a squirrel did!’
Are you ‘the One’?
Do you have (or are you working towards) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare? And a level 3 (or 4) Diploma in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (or equivalent)?
Do you have at least 5 years’ experience of experience in residential childcare, with 2 years of experience at a managerial level?
Do you have a strong understanding of the legislation around the care of children, including Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards, safeguarding and child protection?
Do you have a track record of working within GOOD or OUTSTANDING homes?
Do you have the skills to be able to work with a range of people who all have the aim – to ensure the children we work with are safe and well looked after?
Do you want to be able to work with a team who support each other, even on the worst days, and help them to become a ‘superheroes’ for children?
How to join the family?
The role of Registered Manager is a challenging role and a huge responsibility, not only to the children who you will be caring for, but to your team, who rely on your leadership. Some days will be harder than others and we will need to support each other.
But.
This can be an incredibly rewarding role working for a company who want to create an environment where children can be themselves as we support them to thrive, grow and create happy childhood memories for them to look back on.
If you think that this is the role for you, please send your CV to info@humblebeehomes.co.uk.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. We expect all staff to uphold this commitment, and safeguarding training is a fundamental part of every role. All colleagues are required to complete regular training to ensure they understand and fulfil their responsibilities.
