Your new company
You'll be working with a well‑established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering public‑sector projects across Scotland. Due to a live refurbishment project in Ayrshire, they require an experienced Freelance Site Manager to support the successful delivery of a fire station upgrade.
Your new role
As the Site Manager, you will oversee day‑to‑day site operations on a fire station refurbishment project in Kilmarnock. You'll coordinate subcontractors, manage health & safety, ensure works are completed to programme, and maintain excellent communication with stakeholders. You'll represent the contractor on site, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance throughout.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment or public‑sector projects
- Strong understanding of H&S legislation and site compliance
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold/Manager card), and First Aid certifications
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive the programme
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Experience on similar projects (blue‑light/public buildings) is beneficial
