Crynodeb
Clinical Commitment Shifting of clinical commitment from junior doctors to nursing staff has been developed actively in Kettering to allow more time for training and adaptability as further changes are imposed on us by reduction of Junior Doctors hours.We have specialist nurses in Gynae Oncology, Infertility, Termination of Pregnancy and Prenatal Diagnosis who all contribute to running the department. On-Call This jobwillhaveweekend on call commitments(4-5 a year split weekends)and alsogynaecology andobstetrichot weeks (8 in totalapprox). The successful candidate will do a twilight and night (non-resident) on call twice a month. The above on calls hours will be 5pm in the evening to the following morning 8am. Of these hours, the consultantis required tobe on site between 5-7pm and then is expected to be within 30 minutes of the hospital. Daytime consultant labour ward cover is 8am to 6pm. On Mondays to Fridays the Night On call will start with hand-over at 5-6pm and be resident for one hour until 7pm. On call will finish at 8am next morning. Below timetable for weeks when not on hot weeks am pm Monday 0800-1300 Elective CS list PA = 0.78 1330-1730 clinic (alt gynae and obs) PA = 0.78 Tuesday 0900-1300 clinic (obs) PA = 0.62 1300-1800 weeks 2 and 8 Gynae operating list PA = 0.2 Wednesday off off Thursday SDEC 0900-1300 PA = 0.62 1300-1700 Patient admin PA=0.78 Friday 1000-1300 Basic SPA PA = 0.71 1300-1700 SPA PA = 0.84 Flexible backfill gynae theatre lists 0.53 PA Flexible CS list cover 0.75 PA 1 in 13 consultant of the week Obstetrics 1 in 13 consultant of the week Gynaecology Total PA from hot weeks (including predictable weekend cover) 2.36 1 in 11 non-resident on call, weekdays covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology 1 in 11 non-resident on call, weekends covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unpredictable 1 PA (over weekdays and weekends) On call supplement Category A = 3% Total DCC = 8.5 SPA = 1.5 Depending on the successful candidates skills and experience, there will be an opportunity to take on an Obstetric leadership role.
