As a Resilience Educator in our UK Resilience Academy (UKRA) team, you’ll design, deliver and evaluate high‑quality learning that strengthens resilience capability across sectors. Your work will help people and organisations prepare for, respond to, and recover from real‑world emergencies, creating meaningful impact for communities across the UK.
You’ll shape engaging, inclusive learning and development opportunities that turns complex resilience concepts into practical, usable knowledge and skills. Working with colleagues, specialists, and partners, you’ll help create transformative learning experiences that support the UKRA strategy and drive a more resilient future.
Please note that if successful, interviews will be held on Thursday 9th April and Friday 10th April at the UKRA Easingwold North Yorkshire.
What you’ll do as a Resilience Educator
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Design, develop, and deliver high‑quality learning programmes
- Ensure training is current and aligned to national frameworks, guidance, and sector standards
- Deliver impactful sessions to diverse stakeholders, from public sector professionals to voluntary and private sector partners
- Adapt delivery across face‑to‑face, virtual, and blended formats to maximise engagement
- Create inclusive learning environments focused on participation, reflection, and peer learning
- Translate complex resilience concepts into practical, applicable tools for practitioners
- Design and facilitate scenario‑based exercises using adult‑learning methodologies
- Monitor and evaluate training quality and impact and use insights to continually strengthen programme quality
- Champion quality assurance, ensuring learning meets organisational and sector standards
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and partners to maintain operational credibility
- Identify and apply innovative training tools, techniques, and technologies

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…
- Knowledge of risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and recovery in the UK civil contingencies multi-agency partnership landscape
- A recognised training or adult‑learning qualification (e.g., Level 4 or above, PGCE, CIPD L&D or equivalent)
- Proven experience creating and delivering professional training or facilitated learning for adult learners
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and experiential learning methods
- Strong competence with learning technologies and digital tools
- Confidence delivering classroom‑based, virtual, and blended learning
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to evaluate learning outcomes and apply improvements
- Willingness to travel to deliver training at delegates sites
Vetting and checks:This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
