Job Title: Student Support Assistant - Secondary School (Supply)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Student Support Assistant to work at a welcoming secondary school in the LS14 area of Leeds on a supply basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide support for students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support to students across different subjects
- Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support learning and engagement
- Assist students who may require additional support with behaviour, confidence, or organisation
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support the school's pastoral and behaviour policies
- Encourage students to remain focused, motivated, and engaged in lessons
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with young people, ideally within a school, youth work, or support setting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, supportive, and proactive approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team and adapt to different classroom environments
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- The right to work in the UK
