Salary: £170 - £250 per day

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences in line with the national curriculum and school policies. This role involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons that challenge and inspire learners, assessing pupil progress, and supporting individual learning needs. The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encourage active pupil participation, and uphold high standards of behaviour and achievement.
- Plan and deliver effective, stimulating mathematics lessons that cater to all learners and comply with the national curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on pupil progress and attainment regularly, providing constructive feedback to pupils and their parents or carers.
- Develop and implement well-structured schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching resources.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment by monitoring and managing pupil behaviour effectively.
- Identify and address individual learning needs, providing additional support or interventions where appropriate.
- Participate actively in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
- Promote the school's values and consistently uphold safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Completed teacher training with a focus on mathematics education.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in both teaching practise and subject knowledge.
- Proven experience teaching mathematics to secondary school pupils, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that support pupil progress.
- Experience working within a school environment, with an understanding of school routines and effective classroom management.
- Strong subject knowledge of mathematics, including curriculum content and assessment criteria.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage pupils and collaborate with colleagues and parents or carers.
- Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Highly organised, with strong record-keeping and time-management skills.
- Proficient use of information and communication technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience teaching GCSE Mathematics and familiarity with examination specifications.
- Additional training or qualifications in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Experience working with pupils of varied abilities and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of educational assessment tools and data analysis.
- This is a full-time temporary role, typically during standard school hours, with occasional additional duties such as meetings or school events.
- The position is based primarily within a classroom environment at a school in Redcar, North Yorkshire.
- The role requires standing for extended periods and actively engaging with pupils.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in curriculum or school policies during the assignment is required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
