SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £19,860 - £21,168

Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEND to access learning safely
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support under teacher guidance
- Help implement EHCPs, behaviour plans and care plans
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Promote positive behaviour and inclusion
- Support personal care, health and therapy needs where required
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Work with teachers, families and professionals to support pupils
- Support pupils during lessons, breaks and school activities
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies
- Take part in training, meetings and professional development


Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN needs
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and related procedures
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science
- Team teach trained - desirable
- Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) - desirable
- Trained in moving and handling - desirable
