A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 49-year-old man living in the Barry area with my wife and 2 house cats. I am originally from West Wales and can speak Welsh. I am very active work wise and I am self-employed. I enjoy watching films, using technology and anything creative.
I am a wheelchair user with a progressive illness that can fluctuate daily. This means I have some good and some bad days.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I am looking for one/two PAs. I am flexible to whether someone wishes to take on both aspects of the job, or just one aspect.
I require a PA to support me to access the community and to go to the gym/exercise.
I am also looking for a PA to support me domestically and with food preparation.
The job will also contain personal care.
HOURS OF WORK
I have 20 hours per week available. I am flexible with how these are used.
RATES OF PAY
£14.20 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Supporting me to access the community.
Going to the gym/exercising with me.
Using the hoist at home to transfer me.
Personal care.
Food preparation.
Domestic support.
Potential to do some shopping/picking up prescriptions for me.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A car driver with business class insurance. Might be using my mobility car or your own vehicle.
Someone comfortable putting my wheelchair in the car and supporting me to transfer.
Comfortable using the hoist at home.
A person happy to work in a house with two cats.
Speaking Welsh would be a bonus.
A kind and friendly person.
Someone who is reliable and punctual.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
