Job share opportunity - 3 days a week - Mon-Weds. 22.5 hours. Risk and Safeguarding Lead This role will ideally be in-house at our Chichester office. As our services continue to grow, we are looking for a Risk and Safeguarding Lead to join our team in a job share capacity, helping ensure our safeguarding, screening and risk management processes remain safe, robust and aligned with best practice. The Opportunity This is an important leadership role within our Clinical Governance and Autism service, providing oversight and support to the Risk and Safeguarding Practitioner team. You will help ensure that referrals are screened safely and appropriately, risk assessments are conducted to a high standard, and safeguarding concerns are identified and managed effectively. Working closely with clinicians, operational teams and the Safeguarding and Clinical Governance Lead, you will support the delivery of a safe, responsive and high-quality diagnostic service. The role will also involve supporting staff development, improving processes and contributing to the ongoing development of our safeguarding and risk management framework. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Oversight Provide leadership and support to the Risk and Safeguarding Practitioner team. Allocate and oversee screening and risk assessment workloads to ensure service targets are met. Support clinicians, Assistant Psychologists and practitioners with complex screening or risk queries. Assist with decision-making and escalation where safeguarding or risk concerns arise. Support the running of weekly screening and risk review meetings. Screening & Referral Oversight Oversee the triaging and screening of referrals for Neurodevelopmental Assessments. Ensure referrals are safe and appropriate for assessment via KT Healthcare’s pathway. Audit screening cases to ensure procedures and standards are followed. Review and improve screening processes where needed. Risk Assessment & Safeguarding Provide oversight of risk assessment and suitability calls with patients and families. Support practitioners in identifying safeguarding concerns and conducting risk assessments. Act as a specialist point of advice on safeguarding risks involving children and vulnerable adults. Support escalation and multi-agency safeguarding processes where required. Training & Staff Development Identify training needs within the screening and risk teams. Provide training and support to practitioners, Assistant Psychologists and operational staff. Spend time in the office supporting staff to build confidence in screening and safeguarding processes. Develop guidance tools and resources to support consistent decision-making. Governance & Service Development Work with the Safeguarding and Clinical Governance Lead to ensure safeguarding processes and training are implemented effectively across the Autism service. Support service development and continuous improvement of risk and safeguarding pathways. Contribute to policy development and quality assurance processes. About You We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in safeguarding, risk assessment or clinical triage environments Confident supporting and guiding staff through complex safeguarding decisions Knowledgeable in safeguarding principles relating to children and vulnerable adults A strong communicator, able to manage sensitive conversations with patients and families Organised and able to manage workloads across a busy service Comfortable working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams A degree or professional qualification in Psychology, Health and Social Care, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy or a related field, or substantial relevant experience in safeguarding and risk management within a healthcare or clinical setting Why Join KT Healthcare?
