Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner Responsible to: GP Partners /Practice Manager Accountable to: The Partners at Grangewood Surgery Location: Grangewood Surgery, Chester Road, Shiney Row, Houghton le Spring, Tyne & Wear, DH4 4RB Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive in line with BMA Model Salaried GP Terms Sessions: 4-8 sessions Job Purpose To provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care services to the patients of Grangewood Surgery as part of a supportive and progressive clinical team. Key Responsibilities Use your knowledge and professional skill to provide a high standard of care for all our registered patients. In accordance with the Practice appointment system, undertake a variety of duties, including practice consultations, telephone consultations, telephone triage, visiting patients at home and particularly in the duty doctor rota. All relevant paperwork and correspondence to be completed in a timely auditable manner. Provide consultations during clinics, dealing with a wide range of health needs Undertake duty doctor activity and on call tasks Provide appropriate clinical care, management, and referrals Use EMIS Web for all patient records and administration Complete relevant medical documentation, including reports, referrals, prescriptions Collaborate effectively with the nursing team, admin team, and community staff Support the quality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues. Respecting the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues. Engage in regular practice meetings, clinical governance, and educational activities Participate in monthly protected CPD afternoons and utilise allocated PDP time Contribute to the continued development of the PCN and multidisciplinary working Supervise and support learners (if desired), including F2s, registrars, or medical students QUALIFICATIONS:- Essential criteria GMC registration and inclusion on GP Register NHS England Medical MUST NOT REQUIRE Tier 2 Sponsorship we are unable to provide sponsorship Desirable criteria Previous experience in EMIS Web. Evidence of audit or quality improvement work. Familiarity with QOF and enhanced services. Interest in a clinical leadership specialist interest area.
