Champions Children’s Homes are recruiting Bank Residential Support Workers to join our team at our residential children’s home in Cromford, near Matlock (Derbyshire).
This role involves supporting and safeguarding children and young people aged 10–17 with emotional and behavioural needs within a registered residential setting.
Bank Residential Support Workers support the home when additional staffing is required, such as during sickness, annual leave, training or increased care needs.
When working a shift, Bank staff provide the same standard of care and support as permanent staff.
You will help maintain a safe, calm and stable environment, respond to the needs of young people, and support the day-to-day running of the home.
Shifts may include day shifts, evenings, waking nights, weekends and occasional sleep-ins, depending on the needs of the service.
JOB DESCRIPTION BANK RSW
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting children and young people in line with care plans and risk assessments
• Supporting young people who may experience anxiety, distress or emotional needs
• Promoting positive behaviour, independence and life skills
• Maintaining a safe, respectful and structured home environment
• Completing accurate records, daily logs and incident reports
• Supporting medication administration where trained
• Supporting daily routines including meals, activities, hygiene and bedtime routines
• Reporting safeguarding concerns to senior staff or the on-call manager
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent care
This is a rewarding role where your work helps provide security, stability and support for vulnerable young people.
Full training and development will be provided for the right candidate.
Working Pattern
• Bank / casual role
• No guaranteed hours
• Shifts offered based on the needs of the service
• Shifts may include days, evenings, waking nights, weekends and sleep-ins
Pay
• £13.00 per hour
• £65 sleep-in payment where applicable
• Paid monthly by BACS
Requirements
• Right to work in the UK (sorry, sponsorship is not currently available)
• Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work flexible shifts including waking nights where required
• Positive attitude and commitment to safeguarding children and young people
Desirable
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
• Experience supporting children or young people
