Teaching Assistant | Year 5/6 – Workington
Humly is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time role starting 13/04/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This role would suit a caring and proactive individual who enjoys supporting pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 and is confident working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and supportive learning experiences.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting pupils in a Year 5/6 classroom to access learning
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
Providing small group and 1:1 support where needed
Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Supporting pupils’ academic and social development
What You’ll Bring
Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
A positive, patient, and supportive approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Confidence supporting Key Stage 2 pupils
Ability to follow guidance and use initiative when required
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
