Job Opportunity: SEN Teacher – Maryport
Hours: Part Time - 2 days a week Monday and Tuesday
Start Date: ASAP
Hannett Hale is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a warm, nurturing rural primary school in the Maryport area. We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to lead a mixed‑age class, delivering high‑quality teaching and tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a caring school community set in a beautiful countryside location, where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for a mixed‑age class with diverse SEN needs
- Adapting the curriculum to ensure accessibility, progress, and personalised learning pathways
- Providing targeted support for pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and emotionally safe classroom environment
- Working closely with the SENCO, support staff, and wider team to ensure consistency and high‑quality provision
- Supporting Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs where appropriate — previous Year 6/SATs experience is highly beneficial
This is a full‑time role from mid‑March until July, with the potential for further opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong experience working with pupils with SEN
- Confident in planning for mixed‑age and mixed‑ability groups
- A nurturing, patient, and adaptable teaching style
- Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour‑support skills
- Experience supporting Year 6 pupils through SATs preparation is desirable
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive daily rate: £110–£150, depending on experience
