Further details about the role

A full-time English Teacher is required for September 2026 in our award-winning and “Outstanding Church School” (SIAMS). The post offers an excellent opportunity to teach in a flourishing and successful Church of England Academy where we prioritise the wellbeing and development of all members of our school community.Our school is heavily over-subscribed and its record in public examinations is consistently strong.

The school is seeking to appoint a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to teach English throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. Experience or qualifications to teach English Language and/or Literature to A-level will be a definite advantage; there will be some A-level teaching for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will work within a thriving and supportive English team and work under the direction of a newly appointed Head of Department. The English Department consistently produces high rates of pupil progress and attainment which place it amongst the school’s strongest subjects. Teachers thrive in an environment which balances support and structure with autonomy and independence. The number of students opting to study English A-level is at record levels.
