What skills and experience we're looking for
Carterton Community College is entering an exciting new chapter under new leadership. With a clear

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Physical Education who believes passionately in the power of Physical Education and sport to transform young people’s lives. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and creative practitioner to help shape the curriculum within the school and to lead engaging lessons and support with our wholesale enrichment programme.
We welcome applications from both ECT’s and experienced teachers.
You will have a proven track record of improving progress and raising achievement at all levels and will strive to give students exciting and challenging curriculum opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A thorough knowledge of the PE and outstanding curriculum knowledge.

- Experience in planning an appropriate and challenging curriculum.
- Experience and ability to supervise female changing rooms.
- Ability to implement strategies to meet school development targets.
- Outstanding teaching and learning practice, with real enthusiasm for the subject.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- The desire to have a significant impact on students’ lives through sport and physical activity.
- An unwavering commitment to extra-curricular activities outside of the school day. Therefore, driving license would be highly desirable.
- The desire to support with our ever growing Sports Leadership opportunities across the college.
What the school offers its staff
In return we offer candidates:
- Excellent Facilities; including a modern Sports Hall, separate Gymnasium, Climbing Wall as well as a 3G ATP and extensive playing fields.
- A supportive and positive environment with a culture of high aspirations, based on shared values.
- Continuous professional development to further your potential.
- A well-resourced department, complete with high quality Chromebooks.
- Friendly and welcoming students.
